Activities carried out
• Advice to vegetable farms on controlling plagues and diseases, composting, fertilisation and irrigation, integrated production, biological plague control, hydroponic cultivation and all aspects related to vegetable crops.

• Annual organisation in November of the Vegetable Farm Meeting in Santa Susanna municipal pavilion, with different technical subjects of interest to the sector. This is attended by all the seed companies to present their developments to more than 500 professionals.

Santa Susanna Centre for Agricultural Experimentation
This is an experimental centre dependent on Selmar intended to increase its members’ production. It has a Useful Fauna Breeding Unit used in programmes of biological control of plagues. Tests are also carried out in the centre’s facilities of all aspects improving the output of vegetable farms, such as alternatives for soil disinfection, compost tests on different crops and new varieties resistant to the main viruses that affect crops, amongst other things.
