The main functions of the Sports Department are to encourage physical and sports activities among the population, with activities aimed at children, young people, adults and the elderly, done throughout the year and which are planned and performed from the Sports Ministry itself. It also deals with the management, cleaning and schedule control of the municipal sports facilities.
At the same time, it gives support to the sports clubs and entities of Santa Susanna with direct and indirect economic subsidies (infrastructure and material concession).
It is also the direct organiser of sporadic activities such as the Street Sport's Day or Sport's Night, and collaborates with local entities in organising sports events, and with different federations and private companies in organising large supra-municipal events.
